Minecraft - Hunger Games

Hello Feds,

If you payed attention to the last FedEx, you have heard of the project in labor named the Hunger Games. Although I received mostly positive answers regarding this project, some of you requested more details about it. Having this in mind, I will disclose the full details of what I have and I will want you to vote whether we should move forward with it or not.



Minecraft Hunger Games project for the Federalist Party


The idea is to create a map for the party to play the hunger games and fight to the death for rewards. Minecraft is a pretty old game but still loads of fun.

Requirements:

- First we need to know how many feds are willing to play the game or still play it. Considering the number we may be able to do a small game.

- We need people to be game producers

- We need people to act as sponsors.

- We need people to be tributes (a limited number).

- Minecraft maps to simulate the arenas

- Minecraft server with at least a 20 player capability.

Participants and functions:

Tributes:

The tributes are the main players. They are the ones who will be at the arena and will fight each other to the death.

Tributes may:

- Tributes may ally with other tributes in the arena

- Tributes can create shelters and tools they can use.

- They can receive gifts from sponsors in the arena. The gifts will be provided by the producers after the payment is received.

Tributes cannot attack the producers while at the arena.

Sponsors

Sponsors are the ones who send gifts to their favorite tributes under a payment depending on what the gift is. (There will be a table of possible goods/prices to send)

The sponsors are secret and cannot be revealed until the games are over to any of the tributes.


Producers

The game producers are the ones responsible for the structure of the games. The producers take care of the tributes sorting, giving the gifts and manipulating the tributes in the arena for more fun. A producer may set up different arena maps each month for maximum fun.

A Producer can eliminate a tribute at any time if the tribute is failing to follow the game rules, although this elimination needs to be approved first by the Chief Producer of the Games.

A producer may and should, when the tributes are not fighting and just hiding in their shelters to manipulate the tributes into moving to fight other tributes. This can be done by burning forests to the ground, spawning mobs on the arena and making nights show up faster in order to raise the difficulty and make an epic finale.

One of the producers should be in charge of writing a commentary article on the games and the most epic, decisive moments.

The producers will also judge and rate the tributes on a scale from 0 to 12 according to their performance on skill proves before the games. Higher scores should mean more sponsors.

A producer can be a sponsor as well if he so wishes.

How the game works:

Pre-Reaping


Before the reaping, there should be a form for all the party members to sign up for tributes as they wish. To each of the willing registered tributes will be given an admittance number.

The games team will be decided by the Feds leadership before the reaping, which includes the sponsors, Chief Producer of the games and the rest of his producers. The willing tributes should pay a small price to participate in the games. In case a tribute is not chosen during the reaping, his money should be returned.

Reaping

The reaping should be public and done in the IRC public chat #fedpartychat

Before the reaping a random simulator is decided (could be random numbers, cards, coins… whatever) and the tributes will be selected by the simulator. The maximum number of tributes to participate in the games should be 12 from whom only one will emerge victor.


Skills prove

At a decided day by the producers, skill proves will be done to tributes in order to evaluate their possibilities to actually win the game. The prove may include questions, situation simulations on minecraft… everything that relates to minecraft. During the proves, the Producers will evaluate and 24h after will publish the results for both tributes and sponsors to see.


Pre-Games

Before the game starts on minecraft, each sponsor can choose something to send to the tributes they decide to sponsor. During the games, sponsors may be able to send gifts as well, but it will be more expensive.

Games

During the games, the tributes fight to the death and only one will be crowned victor.

The victor shall receive 65% of the whole game season money and the rest of the 35% shall revert to the Federalist party. The lone victor should be also added to the Fed Awards program.

The game is old and pretty cheap, for like 10 bucks you can download it from the official website :)

Am I the only cheap asshole thinking piratebay? Meh, who gives a shit lol. I wanna play, and I'm broke. lol. I"m not sure what I will wanna do as far as tribute, producer or sponsor but I know I want to be apart of this awesomeness that's for sure.  

I'd like to see more party members discussing this here though. :)

If there isn't enough of a response from just feds you might consider branching out and including other parties.

Anymore news on this? I guess finding someone to host and run the server would be the number one priority. Blondeninja!!!! lol

welp; from my experience from renting one many moons ago, beastnode was a user-friendly rental company that was well-priced.

We would have proceeded if there was enough funds to actually host a server and have someone savy enough with the minecraft server tools to run it. It is a great project, my own design but until we get funds.... we cannot move on with it.

I'd definitely be up to it. I know how to install mods using a Bukkit server

What's a minecraft?

I think it's some thousand-page book on how to create selfish attitudes.
