Looking for a new home. Hoping this is it.
Good shit?
I have had a account since april 2009. But I was inactive most of that time until last spring. Since I have come back I have not missed a day and do not plan to anytime soon. However I came back and was part of a country that had taken over my home in eRepublik over 3 years ago and instead of continuously moving (which I could not afford) I opted to apply for citizenship to the new overlords. When I came back I decided that I wanted to return to eUSA. I applied for citizenship for several months from late spring until early october with no success. So when I finally did find someone willing to accept my citizenship I was appreciative. That is how I found myself associated with the political group AFA. I did not care about politics, I just wanted to return home. I have been a part of that party until a few hours ago. For something close too 5 months. This is about as long as I applied and re-applied to be a eUSA citizen. So I feel this is a long enough servitude and do not feel bad for moving on now. Though I have been considering leaving for some time.
I am currently unpartied and wish to join the Federalists Party. I have not joined yet because I want to be sure I will be welcomed. I do not want to go to where my past associations will make me a outcast before I even join. However I will not lie about my past. I was not there for the party politics and I did not make many friends there, with a couple exceptions. I will not be missed there.
I would also like to join EZC in the near future. Though I will not apply for that until after the next captain elections or they kick me out (which ever comes first). I am currently a regiment captain there and will not leave the regiment early without a attentive regiment captain.
So what is the consensus? Will the Federalists accept a refugee from AFA and grant me asylum? Feel free to question me if you feel my intentions may be less than honorable. I have nothing I wish to hide. Also... Hello everybody!

I'm just a nobody so I can't grant you access or anything but you certainly seem like quite a reasonable fellow.

I appreciate the positive start. I am looking for a new start and better situation. That is all. I was in AFA and made no lasting friendships of the people that are still there. Everyone I thought had any brains in that party has since left. If the continued consensus is more welcomes I think this may indeed be the droids--- I mean party I was looking for.

... I like you.
I believe the Feds shall be found to be quite a lovely new home for you.
I knew AFA had a few reasonable people, glad to see them migrating!

The Feds. will certainly welcome you. It's always a pleasure to see someone leave the AFA and "see the light". If you truly want to move on from the AFA and their terrible actions/reputation, then you should be able to find a nice home in the Feds.
However, I cannot grant access until you are in the Feds. in-game, but remind me, or another admin, when you join and we will grant it.

Re: Looking for a new home. Hoping this is it.
I appreciate the welcome and I have officially signed up as Federalists.
It was less of "seeing the light" and more of I was just tired of staying there. I hate to admit it, but I saw them for who they were from the moment I got there. I stayed there because they let me in when no one else would. So I felt some basic obligation to stay for a few months in the least. I voiced the need for change and damage control and better policies a few times politely and was met with not exactly hostile responses but less than gracious responses. I was never fond of their policies and I never took part in any of their party policies or strategies. I excluded myself from their forums and kept myself strictly to the MU.
As I said per my original post, I will leave the MU after the regiment has a new captain, as I have the honor in not leaving them without someone that cares about military updated DO's. But I had already left AFA and after your comment made sure to join Federalists party before replying.

Yeah, I can understand the obligation piece. Definitely something to consider in any discussion re: the AFA, but a hard pill to swallow nevertheless.

Re: Looking for a new home. Hoping this is it.
Thanks for granting access.
And a very hard pill to swallow for sure. I mean I stayed out of the politics and most of them were not unkind to me, but I saw a lot of bullying around the party and underhanded tactics. I truly despise bullying, even in virtual eWorlds. There is no reason for it.
I looked around some and read a lot of reviews and most of the parties seemed to have so many biases (granted most of them were against AFA) and I found that almost as disheartening as being in AFA. So I did not feel the call to leave as strongly as I would have if I had seen a clear difference between things. But mostly I only saw the super-negative things or the trolls of the parties. (I assume this is the case at any rate, and sincerely hope that I am right) And let us face the truth: all parties have the inarticulate animals that give everyone else a bad name, some parties just have more of them. AFA on the whole seems to have many such creatures. Such people enjoy causing havoc and are the very vocal minority of the groups.
So in this fresh start I am hoping to encounter some intelligent people with basic word articulation that will allow for ease of respectful and productive spread of ideas and thoughts.

Already I have encountered more kind people here than I did in AFA. The only person I spoke to at length over there besides you was RGR; who seemed to like me for some reason and always replied to my messages within a few hours, which is funny because I never agreed with his policies and I was not shy about it. Though that may have just been because I was always more polite and intelligent than many of the dissenting appealers from that party (present company not included in that of course). I find that when one gives the allusion that they are the smartest one in the room, other people tend to be nicer to them whether they really are more intelligent or not. That is something I do with moderate success.
Thank you for making sure you let me know you had finally left though. I did not really care to stay there basically friendless.

Same here, I've found both the Fed and EZC to be friendly, polite and welcoming, which is more than I can say about the parties I've been with in the past. On the RGR note, he is pretty diplomatic, he was very kind to me initially which is why I joined up, and he played the politician when I opposed his in-game views. The trouble started when I got sick of his real-world views being posted in game and told him. That's when the trolling and disrespect started. I was planning on becoming a spy against AFA in their upper-ranks, working with a friend, but she lagged on the window I had and I was outed as an opposition to everything he stands for in-game and in real world. So, here I am

Yeah he did not like my RL views very much. He could not understand how few people liked my states governor. I tried to explain to him that he won with only %39 of the vote and the top runner up had only a few thousand less votes. I shared quite loudly that I was a independent voter. Which went over fairly well. And he always was not impressed in the reality of former pres Bush "living" up here. No one wants him up here, the house is at the very edge of the state, he does not talk to locals freely and he does not really live here; he visits and owns a family property up here. Come to think of it, we have not really spoken since then. It has been a couple weeks. xD

Thanks for the welcome. I may need help later on down the road, but for right now I am content to post and reply around the forum for a bit and get the feel of the general populace. In reality, posting and commenting are all I know how to do right now. xD
