Thoughts On HAMMER Empty Thoughts On HAMMER

Post by crashthompson Mon May 26, 2014 2:02 pm

Originally when it was set up, you graduated HAMMER at an agreed upon Strenght level, usually one that put you on the front page or atleast close to the list on egov.

With such a wider range of XP in Div 1, what do we think would be a good standard for graduation.

You need about 21000 to get onto the first page, which would take a reeeeeeeeaaaaaalllllllyyyyyyyy long time.

So, a new benchmark and graduation requirements need to be officially set.

What do you guys think, what would sound reasonable?

I really have no idea on this one, i've never even been d3, much less d1, so i couldn't even guess at what would be an acceptable str lvl for it.

Why not graduate when all Free Training Centers are fully upgraded? 21k or even 15k strength is a ridiculous high number of strength. SHIELD's objective is to get someone strength training at the maximum for free. But making a HAMMER person stay in HAMMER forever (a year or so) is quite a long time.

Unless they want to be dedicated to HAMMER like kyerby and never fight.

But I would say getting the free TC at Q4 would be a more achievable goal for a HAMMER graduate.

I kinda like a combination of nb & Wooky's ideas. 15K is pretty high and will take quite a long time to get there. But I think just getting the first TC to Q4 is a little too easy. Yes it doesn't happen overnight, but if a trainee is REALLY doing the basics (work the commune, train & request gold) each day and completing all the additional activities, the gold does add up.

Are the additional HAMMER activities required? Should/could they be? Those could part of the graduation requirements; plus if all are completed, that's a fairly decent amount of gold.

Not to even mention if they/we do BU2SU each day.

Lol I had to check my own strength again, seems like I have been playing longer than my strength reflects. Oh well 15k is far to high. Maybe Free TC to Q4 and #4 bascially you get halfway upgrading TC's and then graduate HAMMER

I do think we need a minimum strength level, otherwise it sort of defeats the purpose of HAMMER. Now what that is, I'm unsure - 5k, 10k, 15k ???

Just curious (and I don't know how the magic math works in calculating this), if a trainee were to commune, train & request gold everyday; do all the additional activities for gold; do BU2SU everyday (minimum 5/7 days to get paid); waited for the TGs to go on sale; and maybe had a little gold sponsorship on the side (if need be) - how long would it take to reach 5k and/or 10K?

My plan is to upgrade all of them with a training contractor. It will happen in the next 6 months.
I think having strength is more important as we are not involved in a serious war. The amount of damage we can bring to eUS is negligible, and we will waste the tanks. I would suggest providing the option for trainees to stay with HAMMER ( even with lower amount of gold supply after upgrading to level 4 of weighting rooms) or start fighting after reaching 15k level. I am still thinking about the loaning program and will provide a spreadsheet when I find time in this week.

for a rough calculation a well established player will obtain (91.8x30=2754) strength a month with expending
[2.87x0.1x30 + 55(90%discount price) -11x5 (super soldier medal) - 1x5 (hard worker medal) - 6.8 (BBU2SU)= 1.81  + 93.5x2 (for upgrade the shooting & special force training centers to level 4)
and he can repay the borrowed gold ( 93.5x2+55) with his other medals.

In comparison a player with only Weighting & Climbing Center level 4 will gain only 31.8x30=954 with expending [0.19x30 - 3.8x5 (super soldier medal) - 1x5 (hard worker medal) - 6.8 (BBU2SU)= -25.1 .
It can collect 25 gold each month but it will delay the player progress.
I think the decision depends on the eUS need to have good soldiers fast or there are enough good fighters that can handle our battle fields as well as our allies' one.

Pondering this topic, I am thinking 5K.

It would be great for players to build up their own strength up later, but that will be their choice to hold back fights.

HAMMER goal - Educate, Free TC to Q4, have soldiers take a break.

5K should be enough to meet that goal. By 5K they should have their free TC upgraded as well as the others on their way. 5K would be the strength graduation goal.

Now a final thing. 5K and something else. Any suggestions for the something else, share them. Otherwise I might bounce an idea or two I have off a few people I see on IRC next time I am on and see how it goes.

Good shit?
Maybe a mandatory service time (2, 3, 6 months or whatever) in the program would be a good accompaniment? Some players may come into the program with some strength already, if they are not caught in the first days of signing up. And requiring them to stay in the program for a minimum set time could give them more time to read up and educate on being productive.
