Oh, it's legitimate; but it is awful. I am totally against them.

AGAINST! I hate voters clubs. Have some FN pride in what you write and I think elections would be much different without voters clubs.

Good heavens... I didn't even know such things existed. Man... I am way too idealistic about this game.

But they only have their use because they exist. If voters clubs did not exist, then people wouldn't have to buy votes to compete with articles that buy votes. Citing a time when it was impossible to break T5 without buying... I stay against.

Re: Voters Clubs?
I'm definitely not here to convince you it is a good thing, however it does give newer players a chance to break into the T5. Even if an older player doesn't buy votes, they have a better chance of making it to the T5. Buying votes all the time is not the way to go, though. The Original Hawkie wrote:WookyJack wrote:Alexander_Auctoritas wrote:It has its use.

They are annoying, and a necessary evil because we choose to make them such.

Re: Voters Clubs?
I hate voters club. Because it exist there are times it's necessary. Which.. I really hate. I find voters club makes the media module into a whore. (Yes I said that!) It also pushes down articles that are buy newer players that are AMAZING writers.
Now.. as I've said before. I wouldn't be against the FEDs building our own "voting club" but more so one to reward players for voting/commenting our articles. Not one for others to buy from.

Re: Voters Clubs?
When other citizens are not buying votes I have broken the Top 5 with as few as 20 votes, I agree with Hawkie they are only a necessary evil because they exist; however Mazzy's party based voters club is not a bad idea -a Media Action Committee....

x3
So sayeth three Media heads. lol.
The system sucks, but it is so ingrained into the game that it is The Red Queen effect. Running as fast as you can to just stay in place. Stop and you fall behind. I am unsure about now. But when I was director, we bought votes a couple times. For particularly important papers.
They do, however, pay those who vote pages for them. Not much, but they do pay out (When I bought votes, I hung around the site to look around and did a few rounds of voting to see how it worked. Next week I got paid.)
A party based system would be cool though.

Re: Voters Clubs?
A party based media action committee would be an interesting concept. That said, I vote everything anyway so *shrugs* but I am atypical I guess.
